Forest Schools are teaching children outside in the natural environment. The sessions are led and planned by Clare Gamble, our Forest Schools practitioner; they incorporate many aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The session combines carefully planned activities and child led activities based on what the children take an interest in. I take an adaptable and flexible approach to learning depending on the individual child.
Forest Schools promotes confidence and self-esteem, this is achieved by offering the children small achievable tasks being 80% achievable and 20% challenge. We also promote team work, motivation, skills, knowledge and independence. All of this is achieved while having fun in a safe and stimulating environment.
